Glenn Carleton Gregory is the second eldest of seven children born to Theodore and Gertrude Gregory. He was born and raised in the City of Portsmouth located in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He successfully matriculated in June of 1974 from the Portsmouth Public School System with a college preparatory high school diploma.

Upon high school matriculation, Glenn attended Old Dominion University from August 1974 until May 1979 majoring in Civil Engineering with a concentration in hydrology/hydraulics and environmental engineering. He received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.

At Old Dominion University he served as member and officer of the Students for the Development of Black Culture, founder of the Fellowship of Minority Engineers and Scientists, charter member of the National Society of Black Engineers, student member of the Virginia Society of Professional Engineers and American Society of Civil Engineers. He served as Vice President, President, and then Secretary of the Fellowship of Minority Engineers and Scientists. He assisted in the development of the budget for Black History Month, Engineers' Week and the coronation of incoming ODU President Rollins in 1976.

Upon graduation from Old Dominion University he moved to Atlanta Georgia where he worked for the Georgia Department of Transportation and several private civil engineering firms. While in Georgia he was the State Coordinator for the Junior Engineering Technical Society, JETS, which developed high school students interest in engineering. In addition, he was an active member in several civic, professional, and business organizations.

In March of 1991, Glenn moved to California where he currently resides. He consults with home users and small businesses on computer networks and computer software. He maintains an active informal technology transfer program where he has his clients donate older computers to individuals and non-profits.

Now with Glenn's back ground and education he is uniquely suited to Leasd on our Board in helping see who assist other groups benefit from our program so that their own programs have better success and creating programs that work.. Glen was a member of the Cub Scouts, the Boy Scouts of America, the Gaily Workers Boys Club, and the Youth Choir and Third Baptist Chorus. He was a delegate to several regional conventions of the Lott Cary Baptist Convention. He served as President of the Youth Assembly of Third Baptist from 1974 until 1979.

During his teen age years in Portsmouth, he held various offices in the Team Democrats and Team Republicans. He served as homeroom president in the eleventh and twelve grades. During his senior year, he served as Student Government Publicity Manager, now known as the Speaker of the House.

Because he received a host of school, city, regional, state, and national awards and certificates in art, science, and mathematics, he was chosen as one of the two 1974 delegates to the National Youth Science Camp in Green Bank West Virginia. This just all reflects his belief in achievement for young people and the need to engage them where they live. /p> >
